Alternative Augmentative Communication

Lively Speech and Language Therapy offers AAC (Assistive Augmentative Communication) evaluations, treatment, and consultations. We work with young children and their families to increase communication through speech, language, or other means (low-tech, and high tech speech generating devices-Alternative Augmentative Communication). Our primary SLP, Sarah Lively, CCC-SLP, has extensive training in AAC including completion of the following continuing-educaiton courses:

Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) training by Pyramid Ed Consultants

  • PECS Level 1 Training (August 2015)-13 hours
  • PECS Level 2 Training (May 2016)-13 hours
  • SJCSD Classroom Implementation (August 2015-December 2016)

Environmental Communication Training (ECT) by Technology and Learning Connections

  • Facilitator Training (Nov 2015-April 2016)-36 hours
  • SJCSD Implementation and Facilitating Coach
  • SJCSD representative co-creator/co-presenter of data results presentation
